rednote Intellectual Property Policy

  1. Introduction

Welcome to rednote. This Intellectual Property Policy (the “IP Policy”) applies to rednote’s services, including the rednote mobile application, websites, software, and any related features or services (collectively, the “Platform” or “Services”). The Platform is operated by Rednote Technology PTE. LTD. (“rednote”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

We are committed to respecting and protecting intellectual property rights. This IP Policy explains how we process and respond to allegations of intellectual property infringement on the Platform.

This IP Policy is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. If you have questions about your rights or obligations, you should consult a qualified attorney. For purposes of this IP Policy, “intellectual property” generally includes copyright, trademarks, and other proprietary rights under applicable law.

  1. Territorial Scope / Regional Processes

Depending on where you are located and/or where the content or goods are made available, different legal regimes may apply. We will process reports in accordance with applicable laws, and our terms, policies and guidelines. Where legally required, we will take region‑specific steps ensuring timely notice to users, and offering appeal mechanisms, as applicable.

  1. Copyright Infringement

We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect our users to do the same. It is our policy to respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with applicable law.

Only a copyright owner or an authorized representative may submit a copyright infringement report. If you believe content on the Platform infringes someone else’s rights, you may wish to contact the rights owner directly.

Under EU law, certain uses of copyrighted works may be permitted without authorization in specific circumstances (such as quotation, criticism, review, and for the purpose of caricature, parody, or pastiche), subject to applicable requirements.

To submit a valid takedown notice, please contact us at ipprotection@rednote.com with the following information in writing:

a. A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

b. Identification of the copyrighted work (or works) claimed to have been infringed.

c. A description of the allegedly infringing material and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate it on the Platform (for example, URLs).

d. Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, such as your name, address, telephone number, and email address.

e. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

f. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate under penalty of perjury, as applicable, and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the copyright owner’s behalf.

The fastest and easiest way to send a report to us is by Email. If you wish to reach our designated agent through other (and slower) methods, you can contact our agent.

  1. Trademark Policy

A trademark is a word, name, slogan, symbol, or design that identifies and distinguishes the source of goods or services. We prohibit uses of trademarks on the Platform that are likely to cause confusion, mistake, or deception as to the source, origin, sponsorship, or affiliation of content, goods, or services.

If you are the trademark owner or an authorized representative and wish to report alleged trademark infringement, please email us at ipprotection@rednote.com and include:

a. proof of trademark ownership (e.g., registration certificate or official registry record);

b. identification of the trademark(s) at issue; and

c. links/URLs and a clear description of the allegedly infringing content and why it is infringing.

Only the trademark owner or an authorized representative may submit a trademark infringement report. If you believe content infringes a third party’s trademark, you may wish to notify the rights owner.

We may provide the reporting party’s name, email address, and certain details of the report to the user who posted the reported content, and the user may contact you using the information you provide.

If you receive a trademark infringement notice and believe you have the right to use the mark, you may submit an appeal via ipprotection@rednote.com.

  1. What We Do When We Receive a Valid Notice

If you submit a report, we will generally send you an email confirmation that includes a unique report number. We may request additional information if needed to evaluate your report. If our team requests additional information, please reply directly to that message.

When we remove or restrict access to content based on a report, we typically notify the user who posted the content and to the extent it is allowed under applicable law, we may provide the user with:

a. the report number;

b. the rights owner’s name;

c. the email address provided by the reporting party;

d. a summary of the report; and

e. instructions on how to submit a counter-notice or appeal (as applicable).

Where required by applicable law, we will provide a Statement of Reasons for removing or restricting content or accounts.

We will prioritise the processing of notices submitted by competent authorities, regulators, and other authorised organisations (including, where applicable entities granted “trusted flagger” status under the Digital Services Act).

  1. Prevention of Re-uploads

Where required by applicable law and upon receipt of sufficiently substantiated notices or reference information from rightsholders, we will use reasonable efforts to prevent future uploads of the same infringing content, or materially equivalent copies, on the Platform in the relevant jurisdictions, without imposing a general monitoring obligation.

  1. Withdrawal of Reports

If you are an intellectual property rights owner or authorized representative who submitted an infringement report, you may withdraw it via ipprotection@rednote.com. The withdrawal request must clearly identify the original report and include:

a. your contact details;

b. the intellectual property right previously claimed to have been infringed; and

c. identification of the content covered by the report.

8. Appeals

If you believe your content or account was removed or restricted by mistake, or you have a complaint about how your notice was processed, you may submit an appeal via ipprotection@rednote.com .

If you believe your content was removed or disabled due to mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice (“Counter-Notice”) to us.

  1. Misuse of the Reporting Process

We reserve the right to take action against individuals or entities who knowingly misuse this IP Policy or submit fraudulent, misleading, or manifestly unfounded notices, consistent with applicable law. Repeated misuse may result in suspension of the ability to submit further reports or complaints and/or other appropriate actions.

  1. Suspension or Termination of Users who Frequently Provide Illegal Content

rednote may track notices of alleged infringement, Counter-Notices, and related actions for purposes of identifying repeat infringers.

Where a user frequently uploads manifestly illegal content, including repeated copyright or trademark infringements, we may suspend that user’s ability to upload or post new content for a proportionate period. In determining suspension, we may consider the nature, gravity, frequency, and intentionality of the infringements, in accordance with rednote Terms of Service and applicable laws.

Users who are determined by rednote, in appropriate circumstances and in its reasonable discretion, to be repeat infringers may have their accounts terminated and may be barred from further use of the Platform.

  1. Changes to This IP Policy

We reserve the right to modify or update this IP Policy from time to time, in our sole discretion. Any changes will be effective upon posting on the Platform, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
